Windows 11004 error when using Tunnelier

I am using Bitvise Tunnelier as my SSh client and it has been working like a charm until today.

When I tried to SSH to my server root I got this message:

"Connection failed. error resolving connect-to address: gethostname () failed:Windows error 11004: the requested name is valid, but no data of the type was found"

The same username and password work fine to access WHM, the hosting company says they are able to SSH to the site with no problem.

Is this a local computer problem or a server problem.

What is the fix in either case?

Hello Mel,

this is a domain name lookup problem. Try executing the following from an administrative Command Prompt:

ipconfig /flushdns

If that doesn't help, the problem is likely in your DNS server.
